FIREBAUGH AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT ANIMAL PROJECT PURCHASING CONTRACT
Student must meet the following criteria in order to purchase a market lamb, market goat, market hog, market steer, rabbit, or poultry:
1.This contract must be turned in to the project advisor by the assigned date or an animal will not be purchased for the student.
2. Once the animal has been purchased for the student, the student becomes liable for the entire cost of the project even if the student backs out of the project
OR
loses the project due to ineligibility or breaking contract rules.
3. Student must pay the cost of the animal ($200 lamb, $200 hog, $150 goat) by
December 10
th
for Chowchilla Fair and
June 1st
for the Madera Fair.
4. The remaining balance of the project must be paid by
May 1
st
for Chowchilla Fair and
August 26
th
for Madera Fair. However, no project is taken to the fair unless the project has been paid in full before the fair or arrangements have been made.
5.The project will become property of the Agriculture Department if proper payments are not received by the given due dates.
6.
Student must complete the following requirements before any check is released to the student.
Complete FFA Record book for all projects up to date.
Write thank you notes (must be cleared by advisor before sending out), and obtain a buyer’s gift for all who supported project, which includes award sponsors.
Must participate in “Barn Clean-up Day” or equivalent hours if animal is held on the school facilities.
Must clear any outstanding debts.
