- Agriculture Government and Economics
Meets A-G Requirements & Ag Economics meets A-G Elective Requirement - Grade 12
America’s agricultural industry is the mainstay of the United States economy. Understanding economics and regulations of the diverse industry is critical to its continued prosperity. Students will learn basic economic principles and the historical development of the government. Topics include: macroeconomics, agriculture business organizations, agriculture credit, record keeping, record analysis, marketing, agriculture law, responsibilities and right of citizenship, voting, political parties, elections, campaigns, the Constitution, the Branches of government, and the Bill of Rights. Students will be expected to participate in workplace learning experiences and interpersonal leadership skill development activities. FFA participation is mandatory. Prerequisite - Student must be in Fourth year in agriculture
- Ag Communications & Leadership
Meets College Preparatory A-G Requirements - Grade 9, 10, 11 & 12
This course is designed to develop the leadership and communication skills necessary for success in postsecondary education and occupational careers. Students will be required to complete individual and group projects which will enhance their overall ability to communicate both verbally and nonverbally. This course will offer advanced leadership training as well as job training which should result in a more employable student. Students will be involved in the organization of the FFA and implement all activities throughout the year. FFA officers will be required to be in the class. Prerequisite - Teacher approval or 2.5 GPA
